Aggressive runner ducks??

I had a similar issue with my Drake Runner Duck. Beeper was the "Rooster" to my chickens - and I was a threat. He went from being my baby who sat on my lap and poked at my knitting to being my rival very quickly once he matured. I had intended to get him his own woman this year so he would leave my chicken girls alone. It was very odd, sweet, and funny all at the same. His constant carrying-on when I was in the area and the way he coralled the girls away from me did get a little aggravating.
