Along with the Canada Geese that visit my farm, last Friday 7 Trumpeter Swans also stopped in for a bite. They are absolutely beautiful, and enormous! One Canada Goose showed up today limping, his leg damaged. He's eating and preening, I hope he'll be ok. We have lots of predators here; coyotes, raccoons, dogs, even bobcat. I've heard Swans can be aggressive, and I've seen them chase the geese but are they capable of doing real damage to other waterfowl?

Now isn't that sad, I was so pleased to see the Swans. They're rare around these parts, but not expected to stay being migratory birds. I've seen George the Canada Goose hanging with them today and no one appeared overly stressed with each other. I'm told we could call some rescue people to capture and fix him. What are your feelings on that?

The sick bird will know the difference, though;)

If he has a severely injured leg I would call, but if it's just a simple injury He may be fine. If he were captured and fixed they may release him but they probably have special release site for birds. If he is injured severely and needs help, I would call.
