Please help..
My rooster is constanly trying to attack me..Friday he managed to spur me on the right shin. Today I went and gave them some leftovers and as soon as I turned my back he charged me. I did read a thread about how to handle a mean rooster and even though I walk proud..I carry a switch..and show no fear..well till he charges..I do not allow him to crow when Im in the area. Do roosters get jealous of their humans? All the girls come running when I go to the coop..so does he..but hes always puffed up and stomping his feet. Even though his name is TND (tomorrow nights dinner) Im not ready to give up on him.

I know it can be hard but I'd say get rid of the bird. There are plenty of nice roosters in the world, no point in keeping a complete jerk. If your planning to breed him to your hens there's a good chance he'll pass on those genes. He could also do some real damage to you and your family, especially any young children that may be around. If you REALLY want to keep him, catch him and walk around holding him for 5-15 minutes a day. This may break him of his bad behavior. I'd also suggest removing or at least trimming his spurs. Carrying a switch (which I've been guilty of in the past) in my opinion is a bad idea. It dominates them in a manner that they understand and understand how to fight. Carrying them around is not natural to them and puts them in a position of submission that they have no idea how to fight. Good luck!

How old is he, and did this just begin. It's not about walking proud.
I cant say exactly how old he is. I was gifted him and the flock just about 2 months ago. I think hes around 2yrs old. He has always been like this towards me and I did think I was winning cause he would move off when I came around but when I turn my back he attacks. I have a hard choice to make. There are young children that come visit and I in no way want him to harm them.

Thank you FeatheredFriends&Horses2. I was hoping to breed but no I dont want those genes. I do have young children come visit so I will just make the hard choice and put no one else at risk

I would cull him. I had to do that with one of my roosters! If I turned my back on him he would run up to attack me so I killed him (we also had to many roosters). But there are nice roosters too, I havd one that was 8 moths old and he would perch on my arm and then fly on my head! Lol I had to cull him out because we had too many roosters 🙁
