So my eggs should be hatching late Saturday or Sunday and I have to be out of town until Sunday afternoon. I will have someone watching my dogs, but they know nothing about chickens. I'm going to leave them some basic instructions for heat/humidity just in case, but I think it's best if they leave any hatched chicks in the incubator until I get back. Will everything be ok? Anything I should be prepared for or relay to the person watching the dogs? Ah!

They will or should be fine. That gives you a no nail biting time and patience!!! They don't need to fool with heat or humidity in my opinion unless there are no pips they can add more water for your humidity. Just have them look in and make sure there are no disasters of stuck chicks on wire or something. They will be okay til you get home.

Hope you have a great hatch rate!

Hmmm....probably better to have them not mess with temp or humidity, other than maybe open a vent hole, close a vent hole. If they try to adjust anything, they could easily cook, (or drown) your new kids.

Take a cell phone, so they can call with questions or problems? Or maybe leave a voice mail, if you're...busy....

Enjoy your date, try not to worry too much!

Yeah, you're probably right about not messing w/it. Maybe just have them watch the temp and humidity and call if anything crazy happens. Wish I could be there to watch them hatch though!
