I agree with others here. I would boost the calcium in there diet. My hens seem to pick around the oyster shell so I grind eggshells and mix them with cooked eggs or buttermilk to make sure they eat it. I use 1 eggshell for 3 hens.
What kind of feed do you use? I ask because I was using Purina Layer and I was having a spell of soft shelled or brittle shelled eggs for over a month, My husband went shopping and because we needed dog food too he went to the "fancy' urban feed store instead of the farm supply and they don't sell Purina there so we switched to another brand and the soft shells pretty much stopped.
