I will be breeding silkies pretty soon and want to know how to artificially inseminate the hens so that the roo doesn't tear the hen up. I saw the video on you tube but I have some questions. Is it better to use a spoon, syringe, or eye dropped? I would think the syringe would damage the sperm. If I would AI one roo, how many hens could I inseminate? How would I divide up the sperm for each hen? Do you think that I should AI or just let the roo do his business even though he would pull the hens feathers? Any info would be greatly appreciated! Ohh and I hope this is in the right place mods! Sorry if not.

I, personally, would use pipettes. You can get them in various sizes down to little tiny ones. You could then collect the semen into several of those and then use each one on a different hen. You could also use a syringe if you prefer. The sperm is not going to be damaged using a syringe. The pipettes would be much easier to use though.
