i am on day 17 and the air bubbles are still at the narrower end of the egg. do i wait for them to turn round or are they likely dead

Are you sure it's an air bubble or could it be extra fluid in the end of the egg? If it is a reddish color it could be fluid, which would mean the humidity is too high and the egg is retaining too much water, making the actual air bubble small and very hard to see. What are you hatching?

I am hatching 36 eggs- 12 welsummers.......the rest are bantams. The welsummer eggs are barely see through and there is just a little bit at the narrow end where there is light shining through. I presume i am right in the narrow bit should be facing down. The bantams are similar although more of them have the air bubble at the right end. I keep the humidity between 60% and 40%
