Air cell experiment results

Does anyone have any aircell experience with eggs that have a saddle-shaped aircell? With shipped eggs, I often get one or more eggs that have aircell damage and it is either saddle-shaped or in an awkward place...like completely down the side.

Yup, seen saddle shaped, seen broken and bubbles, seen them on the sides. With shipped eggs that showed those things when I started incubating them, I did it in crates, large end up and didn't turn them at all for another 2-4 days after incubation started, and used crates the whole time.

Since with my own I often just lay them out, it was a change and it seemed to help.

The last week I kept track of where the aircells had ended up (often much better) and if it looked like most of the aircell was in the middle laid them down, and if it was normalish, left them in the crate. Those things seemed to help.

And watching the aircells began to tell me which were developing normally and which were off. Which is when I started doing whole hatches JUST to understand aircell growth and development.

Awesome! I can't wait to see what your results are.
