I have been candling since day 3 (I candle every three days) and everything has been looking fine. but today when I candled I couldn't see the air cell, so I moved the egg and the air cell wasn't attached to the membrane! I don't know if it was the air cell or not but there was a bubble thing in the egg. any help wanted!

No, they weren't shipped, they were my farm fresh eggs! and just to let you know they are on day 19...do you think the egg could still hatch?

It could. They should be in lockdown now, so just set it upright and hopefully the chick will orient itself properly and be able to pip into the air cell which by having the egg upright should settle at the top.

That is weird that it happened with fresh eggs and weirder still that it happened at this stage because the chorio-allantoic membrane should have been able to hold the air cell in place at this point even if it was detached.

I will keep my fingers crossed for it!

thanks for the help! but the egg is under my broody...is that ok?

Hmm, maybe she's been jostled enough the egg got knocked around so badly that the air cell detached.

It would be better if you could place it upwards in an incubator but if you just have the broody then we'll keep our fingers crossed :fl

ok thanks guys! I just noticed that it should hatch tomorrow. so maybe its ok?
