Air cells

Awesome, I was worried about the lead being absorbed and hurting the embryo. Our maybe I'm just an idiot, haha.

Yup
Lead pencils have no lead in them, it's graphite, a soft mineral.  They are perfectly safe.  But Sharpies smear less.

Yup that's true (I forgot about that), it's mainly because while genuine lead pencils are just as good at writing, after long periods of time they can cause lead poisoning - which isn't good for all the kids chewing on pencils! It has to be in large quantities and is quite rare but nethertheless - better safe than sorry! :)

That's what I thought but the packet says lead pencils.

It's probably because most people know pencils as lead pencils, if they saw graphite pencils they would be less inclined to buy them, regardless of the pencil they should be fine on eggs, if you are worried any non toxic marker also works :)

Yorkshire coop
I have one egg with a saddle shaped air cell . How do you determine what end of the saddle to have facing up on lockdown?
I hope this is not a stupid question , but I'm new to this.
