I'm hatching ducklings, and one has the air pocket in the narrow end of the egg! They go in lockdown on Wednesday, so it's fairly developed. Could this one hatch out the wrong end, or will it likely need an assist? I have no problems doing that, I've helped babies, ducks and chickens, before as needed. I just need to know if I need to keep a special eye on this guy. I've never had one upside down like this!

I've had a couple have their air sac on the side of the egg. One made it out on its own, the other didn't and I kicked myself for not interceding sooner, but it hadn't pipped so I didn't know it was ready yet. Sometimes they do just fine on their own so I wouldn't worry too much until all the others have hatched but that one.

Here's a good guide if you should think you need to help it: https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/guide-to-assisted-hatching-for-all-poultry.72886/

I hope you have a great hatch!
