When I candled eggs, some of my shipped eggs have not a perfect round shape air sac.
It's like a skull shape, so to speak.
Does it mean the air sac was damaged?
Should I remove those eggs or is it ok if I give them a try?
BTW, the eggs I picked up from locals have pretty round air sacs.
I don't know what to do with that ugly round air sac ones.
Thanks!

Those are damaged air sacs, but I have had MANY of them hatch. It's especially important to candle those at 7 days and again at 14 to make sure you don't have any blow.

i'm incubating shipped eggs too. i'm on day 16. when i candled at day 14 i noticed that the air sacs on most of them will dip down into the side of the egg. somebody on BYC told me this is a normal occurence with shipped eggs. as a matter of fact, she/he guessed that they were shipped eggs and i hadn't even said that they WERE! funny. anyway, my 8 eggs are going strong so far. i had a couple displaced air sacs early on, and i chunked them on day 2......but i wonder if i maybe should've given them a chance? the ones that i have now did NOT have the displaced air sacs. but the reason the air sacs are not a nice shape is cuz of rough handling during the shipping process. i'll let everyone know how my hatching goes (i'm the one hatching the showgirl eggs)....they're due to hatch this wednesday (31st).

Thank you for your replies, I will give them a try. They are still in my bators, and they are Marans eggs, so I cannot see anything except air sacs at this moment

Out of 14, 3 of them have clear movement inside, but others are too dark to see.
I will update on them next week, due date for them is April 3!
