Air soft gun?

Are you talking about a bb gun?Airsoft guns shoot little plastic balls that sting a little,bb guns shoot metal bb's that can kill coons. Paintball guns run around 200 fps (feet per second) any bb gun that can kill a coon runs around 1200 fps.Coons come out at night and as long as you are responsible and close the coop door at night there is so need to shoot them,and if you are worried about hawks just make a run and cover it and you will be fine,you can let them out when you are at home or outside.

well, I know it can shoot metal bbs as well as pellets but, we've always loaded it with a plastic ammunition for ROTC. So, not real sure what you'd call it. I have used it when hunting for squirrels and once for rabbit but, never against a raccoon. Like I said, I think the shotgun would freak out some of the people here who have never even seen a gun(tis why it stays with my daddy in Arkansas).

I think the hawks can be taken care of fine by just being out there or by using CD's and stuff but, living next to a nature reserve, the raccoons come out ALL the time. So that's what I"m worried about, can't always trap them when there are groups of like 6 : (. I just don't want to have one flip out and decide to fight instead of run and I not have anything to use against it.

Well I think a good ol baseball bat or golf club would be better then an airsoft gun,also how can it shoot airsoft bb's when it can shoot metal bb's?the metal ones are a lot smaller then the plastic ones.

actually they're about the same size, a bit smaller than a pea. And I'm not sure my dad would like if I used his putter against a raccoon but, that's a good idea XD

We use a pellet gun to shoot the giant mice that keep eating my chicken food. They burrow in around the concrete footings where my DBF cut the hardware cloth too short. Its kind of like playing whack-a-mole with a firearm...

The upside is that the BBs dont go through my privacy fence so I dont have to worry about the neighbor's dog.

I got into airsoft pretty hot and heavy in college and I can tell they have models on the market that will make a grown man cry. I've been shot with a fully automatic airsoft rifle that left marks from my ankles, across my body, and up to my neck in one go. It left a line of marks for about a month. That was the last time I ever tried to outrun that guy.

I use a low power BB gun to shoot dogs eyeing my chickens. Of course my situation is different as folks use the graveyard next door to abandon their starving dogs, which naturally come over to my place. They tend to stay away after that.
