(Someone needs to have the Ameraucana/Easter Egger convo)

I'm just so excited for mine to start laying. I can't wait to see what we'll get. They're so calm and sweet too

I've began naming them. The first one is name Hyacinth

You can tell them I have some splash EEs for sale. They are ACTUALLY non recognized Ameraucanas, but we don't want to confuse them. I'll take $5 each for unsexed chicks. Once I can determine gender, they will be $20 for girls and $10 for boys or $25 a pair. I will sell trios for $40. Once they reach POL, I will no longer sell them in pairs or trios, hens will be $25 and cocks will be $10.

People really just don't get that Easter Eggers are mutts. I like your term of 'non recognize Ameraucana', that sounds very accurate and honest.

People are also cheap. Very, very cheap. Anyone who thinks they can get a POL bird for under $15 is not being realistic.. or they're buying an old hen unknowingly

The great thing about these birds is that they are so pretty that I will sell out before they reach POL, but if I don't, that's okay too. As a matter of fact, there are some Blues, blacks and lavenders that I don't want to sell, .... but, for the right price.............

I need to house them out of sight just so I won't end up selling them. I really want to see them feather out and see how blue their eggs are.

I had a couple ladies that bought hens from me a couple years ago stop by and asked me if I would raise them up some more hens. They really love the EE's so I ordered some from out co-op and waited a month to get them. Now I will feed them till they are nearly 5 months old plus handle them every day so they will be very tame for these elderly ladies. Do you have any idea how much I will have invested in these birds for them? And they don't mind paying for them!

Mom and dad had to stop at the feed store today. Looks like I'm going to have to set up yet another pen just for EEs. The owner's son asked dad if I had any plans to raise them. He said that if I do he'd put in orders for any and all chicks I hatch. They apparently sell better than the AGF did. Which is pretty amazing.

I've actually been the one to take chicks to the feed store lately. Mostly to trade for feed.

He also really wants some chicks from my first Chantei and Buckeye hatch. I told him I'd see, but I couldn't promise anything since I don't have many hens. Well, you know that!

Apparently people have been asking if he could order them too.

I believe it.

Heck, I've been thoroughly impressed with the chicks you hatched for me.

Oh. I've got some squatting now! (they did it tonight, as I tucked them in) My whole flock seems to be pining for a rooster... I have hens mounting hens and they're not even upset about it

They just.. sit there... on top of one another.

Eggs might come early!
