Hi Goat Walker, warmer chicks are extras that the hatchery sends along with your order in cold weather to keep the chicks you ordered warm. Generally, if you order enough chicks to fill a shipping box, you don't get the extra chicks. The warmers will be something the hatchery has in abundance, so you may get a box full of little roos! It does sound strange!

If you would like ducks they do have a great selection. they are the only hatchery i could find that has snowy mallards, so i can not wait to get one! if you'd like to order ducklings i can add in whatever you'd like from Ideal into the order. To make it less confusing, i can do all the ordering and let you know when the ducklings are to arrive...

That would be wonderful! My mom s still contemplating though about whether to get them from a hatchery

This unfortunately could take all spring but Im going to try and butter her up with pictures of cute little fuzzy butts

I was mainly interested in getting more females since I have an uneven ratio. Do they already have the ducklings sexed or do they just sent you a box of your breed?

you can mix the breeds how ever you like, and they sex them for you. That's the main reason i'm ordering from Ideal. I orginally wanted mini appleyards from Holderreads but they don't sex and i couldn't find anyone who could. They look similar to snowy mallards and from what i've read, they are quieter too, lol....

Are their any breeds you are interested in? You would just have to let me know what breeds and how many.
