Hi y'all! I'm in Hamilton Alabama. That's in Marion Co. I been here about two years, used to live in Haleyville. I'm new to the chicken business, so please bear with me when I ask question that everyone else seems to know the answers to already.

Hi Crickett, I am not too far from you, I live 18 miles east of Jasper. What kind of chickens do you have? I have OEGB silver gingers and silver duckwing.

I have two Black Austrops (sp?), four Golden Comets, two that I think are either Dominicks or else Barred Rocks, Two Brahmas, four Americunas, and I'm not sure what the last four are. I also have 26 BB eggs in the incubator. Not exactly sure what else they are called, but they are really TINY when they are grown! The eggs are about as big as quail eggs.

welcome Crickett: Hamilton is a great little town..Dominicks have rose combs, barred rocks straight combs My Dom hens..

Mine are only about 2.5 weeks old, so they don't really have combs yet.

Guess I'll just have to wait and see.

I have a buff duck setting on a nest of 15 or so, im having really good feelings about this nest. I havent had a problem with her setting or any eggs busting so they are all developing nicely I believe.


They are due May 1st - 5th ( im not sure exactly when she started setting )

Im planning on keeping a few females to even out my drake : duck ratio, but I am still selling / giving away ( not sure which I will do ) the rest of the drakelets and maybe a female or two.


I am planning on trying to vent sex them , but this is my first time so I may make a mistake on one or two.


Anywho, to the point:

Would any one be interested in giving these ducklings a home? They are either :
Buff x Mallard
Buff x Domestic bibbed mallard
Buff x Buff/mallard

If I do plan on selling them, they will most likely be just $2 each ( to pay for feed ).

I am near the pike road / troy highway area.
