ALABAMA!!

Diatomaceous earth and punkin seeds are also good wormers. Diatomaceous earth is also good for mite control and insects. Keeps down orders as well, to some extent. Also good for scrubbing dishes, and polishing, it is used in stuff like Ajax.

I just cruising around, I'm planning on moving you say with a different BYC neighborhood are like. I need to stay in the south, I kinda scare northerners. I'm am old woman but I really dislike the desert. Family is why I am here. Don't know, yet were I want to live. Need to fish and hunt. Land and home prices are reasonable. On SS. ofcourse must have chickens and a garden. There is a great colection of BYC neighbors here, figure the same else ware.

Howdy, Y'all!! Welcome to the thread! We are happy to have you here, no matter where you are from.

Wisher1000, my family left Alabama about 200 years ago, to Arkansas, then Kansas, then North. Started in Georgia about 300 years ago, but there is indication they came south along the coast to have been on the continent 350 years. Arriving between 1650-1675. I have a family history. We were witness to the trail of tears. Neighbors to the Civilized Tribes of Georga. I have 1 famous ansester that was one of General E Lees Generals, eather a brigadier or lieut. Gen., I can not rember his name, it started with an F if I remember right. I need to ask my brother, he has been researching our family.

I'm 67, not afraid to move and start over, for some reason the only men that are not "afraid" of me are southerners. When men find out I can hunt, field dress and processes a dear, I know how to make a snare, can fish, make a fire in the rain, and have a few other skills their man hood is threatened. {I do not have to have a man to be happy, I'm lucky. It would be nice. So the old farts of Alabama are safe.}

I do not know why but southern men actually like it. When I move I need to be able to have my garden, chickens, maybe a few goats, I can hunt and fish near my new home. I also want sweet dear. Not ones living on pine needles an sour brush, but sweet brush, and other sweet browsing. I used to hunt only one area, because the sweet venison. Bottom land with an abandoned apple orchard. I really need to come home. Arizona is dry, oven hot, tarrable fishing and hunting close to home. Arizona has it all, but you have to travel a lot, anf the brows at lest is not that sweet.

Wild boar is like nothing else, prepared correctly, not to remove the wild taste but tame it, (what goes in make a difference), then slow cooked with the right rub. You have to know were the beast came from, handle each one differently. I'm sure there will be people there tho help me to learn locale boar, and rabbit. There Beasties I've never had I would love to try, squirrel is one of them. Don't get me started on crawfish.

Sounds like you need to find you a place in Alabama!  I have a rental house that is occupied at the moment, but might be available when you are ready to move!
can I chickens? Have to have chickens. I own my house clear, hope to sell it, but moving and selling dose not always happen at the same time. That could work. But have to have my girls. You have more predictors, so I need to protect them.

You sound like my momma. After she divorced she just couldn't find another guy that could handle her independance.. heck, that was part of the reason she divorced in the first place, she did NOT like to be coddled *laugh* Raised a nice independant streak in me as well. Lucky me, my fellah can handle it ;-)

it takes a real man to handle it. My late husband, said he took me hunting when he found himself attracted to me. When he took me hunting, when he saw me start to field dress right away, he said his heart was mine. When we got home he asked to see my feet. I had new Red Wing boots, broken in on the trip. I had blisters, I told him, what do you expect with new boots, I brought plasters for them, but ran out. He said he loved me even more. He said he was a strong man and wanted a strong woman to walk beside him. You must have a strong man.
