ALABAMA!!

Well, dad (might) be getting chicks soon. The idea is to end up with at least one roo and a some hens. He's had horrible luck finding a RIR roo to replace Red since dad sold him last year. I look on craigslist from time to time, but never find one.

I'm still working on getting home. Things have been pretty crazy around here.

Today is Smudge kitty's 16th birthday. I can't find a pic of her to save my life and I know I have some.

Hopefully he will find a RIR soon.
And hopefully you will be at AL soon too.

Due to ill scheduled vacation in mid April, I could not set my sebastopol eggs this weekend. $15 each with minimum of 5. As usual, there were some clear eggs first 2 settings, but 27 of 28 set over last 2 weekends are fertile. Local pickup only / no shipping.

I saw pics of your sebstopol on your website. Very pretty birds.

This spot is on the back of my rooster right in front of his tail feathers. If you look close you will see a raised spot to the left with some small feathers coming out of it. Not sure what this is. I put some neosporin on it. Should I pull the small feathers out? Anyone else ever see this?

That's his preen gland. It is pretty red looking, but it is supposed to point out like that. I would maybe clean it some and then leave it be. With it being red, it may have been a bit clogged or something.

Just got back from TSC...ya'll are right this is addictive. I got 5 Red Production Pullets, and 3 Light Brahma Straight Run to go with the 5 Bantam Straight Run we got Saturday. I will have to stay away from TSC now. :)

Aren't baby chicks fun!! I finally bought a cabinet incubator for all the sebbie, call duck and dorking eggs. Sebbies should start hatching next week, but the Dorkings hatched over the weekend. Love the little guys!

Orps, as promised, here are the English orps I had shipped in. they're from Vermont so hatched and spent the winter in the barn, never outside till now.

Some ayam cemani eggs on ebay. Dang they are pricey. Been reading on a thread on here called "get the flock out of here". It is an excellent reading adventure. Im new here and kinda stumbled onto it. I know there are alot of u guys already subscribed but i have seen a few new people recently and felt like sharing
