@kimberly35042 I'm actually a 4-H leader. Our club is really new, though - Our first official meeting was just a couple of weeks ago. My daughter is the only one with chickens so far, but I know I have several kids that would like to get into it. I'm trying to talk Jefferson County into participating in the chick chain next year.

I'm glad you like my orps -- I need to look up the standard for them though they are supposed to be my "just for fun" eye candy.
I think the weights will be there - as @Tomtommom says fluffah bowling ball chickens!
I'm afraid goose math got me this year ( and turkeys)

Note the "hyenas" in the background waiting for me to leave so they can take over the food dishes.

Early, I don't know much about the 4-H stuff, but I'd like to help with discounted eggs or chicks or a bird for showmanship. The Nankins are so cute and gentle -- they'd be great with smaller kids.
The Dorkings are pretty laid back, but at 8-9 pounds, the cocks are a little large for the smaller kids.

I don't coddle the poultry too much, but I have this one little nankin chick I hatched, well, he sits on my shoulder sometimes.

OH -- I forgot about the NARRAGANSETTS. How FUN would that be to have a Heritage breed TOM TURKEY at a 4h event?????

LOL, I don't know much about the chicken shows, but I guess we'll be learning next year! That would be really cool! I'll keep you posted! I've got about a dozen kids signed up so far and I know about 3 of them will do poultry. More want to, but convincing moms and dads is a whole 'nother thing, ha!
