Good luck with the Craigslist Tom! It's a tough crowd on there for people just trying to get rid of roo's.
I'd eat him but, heck, he couldn't even pass for a cornish

What is that? There's nothing to it. Call the state ag number and tell them your county and they will have the tester call you back. He will set up an appointment to come out and test your flock (he randomly tested 15 of my 30.) The IA test is a throat swab and the Pullorum (SP?) is a prick under the wing. Then you get the paperwork and the number comes in the mail a time later. As long as your flock stays closed, or you quarantine new arrivals, you are good to use the number. They want you to follow all in/ all out program, but they know backyarders don't. The best thing is that you can get birds necropsied, free of charge, at one of the two state labs - they may limit the number, though.
OH! and he comes back once a year and re-tests!
So sorry!!Just got a phone call from the hubby.... Stupid schnauzer killed all 3 of my babies. She is getting rehomed to the pound in the morning (we won't have an animal who kills for no reason, even my cat left them alone) and the hubby and son are cleaning it up for me before I get home. Can't stop crying, they were only 5 days old, but we all loved them so much. Hubby and I went to sleep listening to cheeps.... Gonna miss my little fuzz heads, and no more have hatched out.![]()
Guess it's off to TSC after stupid is gone....
I am sorry for your loss! I do have to mention though that the dog didn't do it for reason. She is an animal and that is natural for her. It is her instincts. My dog that is my baby killed one of my silkies. I was not happy with her at all and she got into a lot of trouble for it but she is a terrier and knowing what is what terriers I took full responsibility for it. So now she is not allowed and does not come into the pens with the chickens. I really understand your frustration but please rethink rehoming. I am really sorry you are having to deal with that though.Just got a phone call from the hubby.... Stupid schnauzer killed all 3 of my babies. Very true... We actually were able to rehome her with my son's girlfriend, so the kids will be able to see her and she will have lots if dogs to play with. I hated to take her to the pound, but we were at the point if not knowing where to take her. So thankful for the girlfriend and her family!!!!Try a breed specific rescue, pounds are generally just a really long way to get them put down :/
I rehomed two of my doggies, they were havanese and living outdoors.. Actually drove to Heflin today to rehome the second one. The first one stayed at a foster and has found a forever family now through them. It's a little extra work, but it makes me sleep better at night knowing they're not on death row.
Dogs will be dogs, but if you're not happy with them, it's ok to find a better solution!
What hours will you be there? My daughter has a softball tournament in Cullman Saturday. We knew you were gonna be there and planned on trying to make it anyway.Bsisco, before you go to TSC remember I'll be at Lacon on sat selling pure ameraucana, bantum cochin, and Yes guys you heard it here first. Blue and Black orpingtons. Chicks and hatching eggs of all the above.
