IDK about them but depending on where you live there is a Feed store called Thrasher Feed & Grain in Bessemer I just went to yesterday and she said they get their chicks in March to call closer to time and they'll let you know. They get a 200-400 mix whatever has hatched that day and it's all mixed together for $3 a piece.
Ok great. My roommate and my boyfriend were all about letting them free roam and I was very nervous so I decided to ask people with experience! Especially with you guys in Alabama since our predators should be the same. Thank you so much for the quick and detailed message! The only problem I can see with that, is now, once I get my chickens, if I ever have any problems, I'm gonna be all over here trying to get advice!
How'd it get in? I have a 6' privacy fence but I am so worried there is something I haven't thought of. I have netting over the top and a locked coop.There are some danger. I've didn't think anything would kill my three 12lbs English orp hens because of size and the fact my yard is small. And they were fine for almost 2 years. But something came in one night and killed the whole flock.
