ALABAMA!!

I went by the local TSC today and they have the bins already for new chicks coming in the am. All they has on their lists that were coming were Red pullets and pullets, bantams, and specialty pullets...do you just have to look at the chicks and guess what some of them are i guess??? This will be a first time thing for me. Also i acquired fertilized eggs from a friend today and they are in the incubator so we shall see :) Ready for my first little chicks tomorrow brooder is ready!!

It depends on the TSC. The one in Ozark is very good about knowing which breeds are in what bin. They have a chart with pictures of adult and chicks should and will look like. Plus info about the breed. I have also heard that several are not very good about it.

They showed this to me said this is what they were getting lol....I guess they reds would be RIR? or guess they could be RS or RSL?? who knows?? i dont know how to tell the chicks apart but i guess they are all good layers??

I called my TSC in Bessemer today since they said they would get chicks tomorrow. My husband is home and kids so I was kind of happy when they said it would be Tuesday instead because of all the bad weather their shipment will be a day off.

I haven't called them yet... hope ours wont be delayed a day. Last year hubby didn't get to come with me, so he's actually looking forward to the experience this year. He's off Monday and Wednesday. I CAN'T WAIT TIL WEDNESDAY! They'll be out of all the good chicks.

Well the reason I am happy is because I wouldn't get to go Monday since no school and no work for hubby. Plus.. I couldn't come home with anything other than more bedding either lol. I asked if they knew what would be coming and he had no clue. Since they haven't been open long and this would be the first time for them to have chicks..I didn't really except them to anyway

Just keep us updated. Take pics if needed... I would totally drive to Bessemer or Chelsea if they had something I want.

I have a maternity care appointment this morning.. after that, I will hopefully be getting some fluffy butts.

I just checked the Columbiana co-op and they apparently have had chicks since early February

Saw a pic of barred rock and rhode island reds. They may have some others too.
