Jknox, I could have given you plenty of fertilized eggs a week ago. But now between the broodies and the dog attack. I'm lucky if I get 1 egg per day. And I couldn't swear there fertilized. Mr Roosteris just now getting frisky again besides, mine are mutts. Not a big market for mutts. Pretty mutts, good egg layers,and good broodies. That's all that matters to me!

Bamadude, I was tricked into biting a green persimmon too, but it didn't traumatize me, I would do it willingly, I thought it was fun! Dang that was a long time ago. Memories ahhh,shucks I'm old. Lol

I had a hen go broody and I need fertilized eggs for her, does anyone in the Muscle Shoals area have any???

Will have to introduce you guys in Japanese Persimmon in the fall/winter(that's when they ripe). You will never think of persimmon the same way again.

Are these the Apple sized Persimmons i have seen at the store? I think now imported from mexico?

Probably it is. However, you have to be careful. There is another Asian variety that is also apple size. Like their wild variety it's astringent.

I'm still hashing details with Jayare. Will pm you on where and when later this week after I get the eggs or when I'm getting the eggs.

As for advice. Try not to peak too much. Hardest thing to do is leave those eggs alone and let the hen take care of it.

Where did you find your kiwi starts?

Ebay. http://www.ebay.com/usr/maggyplanthome ships from Florida. I asked them to make a custom order for me. I got 1 female Ananasia and 1 female ken's red and a male polinator. Very well packaged and they're thriving.

I know you can buy them at Petals of the Past in Jemison too.

I'm just going to stick 2-3 chicks under my broody. I had donated some muscovy eggs to her, only to find out there were rotten (and all the other ones the muscovy were sitting on)

What kind of eggs are you wanting? Right now the only pure breed eggs I have are Silkies then I have assorted mixed eggs from my large fowl and a couple projects I'm working on that are Dominicker/Silkie and Phoenix/Silkie mixes.
