ALABAMA!!

Hey Nancy,

Welcome to Alabama in advance. I had a friend who moved to Ft Rucker from Germany many years ago. It was a shock at first, but after she got used to it she loved it.

All Alabama folks, I have a request of sorts... my good friend wants a pair of game chickens. My opinion is a couple of hens and one rooster. He is a stand up kind of guy. He is taking care of his dad at home, dad is 93+ and he about 60 something. I know he will take care of his birds and share later if they reproduce. In fact I think all offspring would be shared. He's that kind of guy, and I'm more than ready to help him obviously. I've looked at lots of game chickens, he's not picky. I would be willing to pick them up. probably if needed.

April 18th at Susan Moore Park there is a Chicken Swap plus other animals and Plants, might be a little far from Gold Hill, I know there will be some game birds there!

I was wondering if you guys wanted to come up with a list of the coolest small towns or neatest places you've run across in Alabama. Today I was thinking about this beautiful church my dad used to take me to in Pike Road, AL. It had an awesome English garden in the back that I loved exploring as a kid. But I can't think of any quaint small towns with cute main streets that I ever went to in Alabama. Who's got a suggestion?

Oh hey I am going to the Chicken and Egg Festival! I'm not sure which day I'm going yet. Last year they didn't really have much in the way of real chickens though. I guess it was just the first time it was ever held. There was one man who was showing off like ...30 breeding pairs of his show bantams. Had different types of polish, seabrights, and modern game bantams. Last year we asked if he would sell any of his birds and he was! We didn't buy any though because at the time I wanted baby chicks not full grown birds. Maybe he will be there this year!

We went to the Chicken and egg festival year before last and they didn't have but about 6 bantams, no eggs. I was real disapointed in the whole thing. I am looking forward to the Susan Moore swap, I hope the weather is good, I will be bringing some bantam eggs. I am getting close to a dozen a day.
