I am happy to be here after many years reading the forum with questions. Thanks for all of you who have shared your wisdom here and continue to do so.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
No, I hace had chickens for over a decade in very different climates, Costa Rica and Minnesota. I got my first flock in 2010.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I currently only have 5 hens and just hatched 4 (more in process).
(3) What breeds do you have?
I have Rhode Island Blue, Golden Comets, and sone barnyard mixes of Spanish White Face, Ameracauna, Cream Legbars, Black Copper Morans, and Silver Barnevelders.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I lovd their personalities, their eggs, and how helpful they are in the systems we establish.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I am a permaculture designer and teacher.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am a mother of 5, a community builder, spoken word artist, a gardener, and lover of life.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I have no idea, how long has it been around? I have been looking up chicken related things online since 2005.
