Awesome pics! Thanks for sharing. I am hoping Dh and I can go to Alaska for our 20th anniversary - only 3 more years! My father was stationed in AK when he was in the Airforce during the Korean War. Says he loved it there and has always wanted to go back.

Dang! I wish I could post pictures... I'd be posting some awesome ones! I love it here, and I'm not leaving!!
All of those who say they want to visit. Make the time, don't put it off, it's too beautiful to put off!!! It's 100% worth the trip, every time.
Live like there's no tomorrow!

those are just some of the float house that are on the way out of the bay the numbered towers are the navigation markers that mark the way in to the bay from out front.

I see that you are form the interior .
We lived 13 miles out side chitna for a wile.
Then the good lord led us to move back to southeast .
We gave most everything away .
got us a wall tint a inflatable boat and our two kayaks and hitched a ride no one of the last fishing boats going south for the winter out of Valdez .
that was five years ago.

If you can make it to ALASKA and want to see Alaska's southeast inside passage the best way is to us the Alaska State Ferry.
you will see more then on a cruise ship .
http://www.dot.state.ak.us/amhs/index.shtml
and you can get a tickit that lets you layover in the citys that you want to see and get back on a laeter one .
And the ferry stops in more places thin the cruise ships.

I agree, the Inside Passage is awesome. I took it when I moved here. No plans on leaving either.

Southeast is one area we need to explore a little more.

Alaska should be on everyone's "bucket list". And sometimes our winters are less harsh than those Minnesota sees! LOL!
