Alaskan coop

Its coming along pretty nicely. I think I really blew it out of proportion for what I need though. I only plan on 6 chickens. Coop is 8x6 with 7 foot height transitioning to 5 foot in the back. Im up to about 700 or so. By the time its all said and done with the run ill probably hit close to 900.00

Here is the frame

Here it is with the interior walls on. I used 3/8 plywood.

then I placed 1 1/2 inch r-tech all around the walls. and sided with t-111

the left side will look like the right. I just havent got the chance to cut the window or the other vent in. the roof is kind of a clear plastic. I will also insulate the cieling but will cut out skylights,

Be aware that uninsulated areas of the ceiling (your 'skylights' cut in the insulation) will become a massive condensation farm and make the coop much more humid than it needs or ought to be. I would strongly advise against it, in a northern climate.

Fabulous! Better to end up bigger than smaller. That way you can always get more chickens! I'm from Anch. as well, have family all over the state. I guess it's not the racoons you'd be worried about.....

My husband can't wait to get the run finished so he can have a cold one, relax, and just watch the chickens! They'll be a lot of that going on!
