Albino coturnix

Never had one myself, but unlike moby quail, they do exist. I think you have to hatch thousands to get a few, and the anomaly can't be line bread.

It's a genetic anomaly. Yes they do exist in most species. They can not line bread as rabbits or rodents do, but they exist. Unlike moby quail.

Albinism, is a species centric trait!
You would have to hatch a lot of coturnix to get an albino.

not trying to take the topic too far off but are'nt there pigeons with pink eyes I had a cousin who raised pigeons for a while in a lot of ways coturnix make me think of pidgys

Marsh Farm sold them before the english white, but after the english white, they seem to disappear. They did die easier as chicks. I also would like to get some again.

We have 8 coturnix quail in a breeding cage and collect 2-3 eggs a day from the girls. We have only hatched out about 4 as we are new to this, but one caught my eye... he has no spots or brown yet, he is not all the way out of the shell yet either. Ill try to take pictures tomorrow when I can see his eyes. If in fact his eyes lack pigment or how can this not be a albino coturnix when all we have is coturnix??? is there a non colored gene besides albino, like a piebald?
