Hello all! This happened last year, but I haven't started posting on BYC until the last few days. Just wanted to share this - last summer I was sitting in the back yard of our old house, drinking a glass of wine, with the chickens around my feet. My favorite girl, Sassafras (who also happens to have a scissor beak), jumped up on my knee, and as I was trying to take a picture to send to my hubby of me drinking a glass of wine, and Sassafras relaxing on the swing with me, she dunked her beak into my glass and took a sip!
Since that day, any time she sees me with a glass of wine, she runs over to get some! I can't blame her, I love the stuff, too. Of course, I don't give her any, because that one time she got some was an accident - but my girl Sass is a wino and proud of it!
Anyone else out there have accidental alcoholic chickens? haha
