Alerts do not last forever. It appears that they only last for 7 or 8 days.

If you want to keep track of certain threads, make sure you click to "watch" the thread.
Once you have watched a thread, you can find it easily in your watched threads list.

You had a screen name change on April 16th, your alerts probably can't connect with your previous name.

Name changes shouldn't make a difference.
