alfalfa amount

I have 6 chickens in central Illinois. Does anyone have any guidelines for giving alfalfa during cold weather?

My birds diet consists of approximately 10% alfalfa. Alfalfa is around 17% protein so it is a good source and will do wonders for your eggs.

I would say let the birds eat as much as they want. (Since pasture/range is poor this time of year in many places.)
