ALFALFA CUBES SOAKED FOR BABY CHICKS??????????

The cubes I've seen have pieces that are much too large for little chicks. I would definitely not do that. They need a more pulverized product, until they get larger.

I don;t think I would soak it. If you added some crumbled up to their feed, I don't think it would hurt them. If you soak it it might cause some problems.

How old are they? I wouldn't do this until they're at least 8 weeks, and when/if you do it, yes, they should be soaked in warm water. Make sure they have grit.

Soaking it can cause it to get moldy. You can get a clump of grass, dirt, roots, and all, and give them to play with. They will jump all over it and dig into it. Just make sure to give some kind of grit too. I put mine in a cut out cereal box to help keep it clean so the dirt wouldn't get everywhere. Just don't soak the alfalfa.
