Alfalfa Hay: poisonous?

Whew! Well, I didn't know if it was some other kind of alfalfa or something, because like I said, I'm into my 2nd bale and my chickens seem fine so far.

I feel better! I'd hate to kill them with hay.

There are lots of options out there for alfalfa.. usually out west that is all that's available.. there is so much fighting in the horse world over "its it ok to give a horse JUST alfalfa" vs. " a little is ok" on and on.. Well, obviously the horses out west live on it, and are just fine. However, if a horse has Cushings or is insulin resistant, it can do more harm than good. I can get 100% alfalfa, or a 50% mix, the other 1/2 being orchard grass. It's super yummy! So if anyone has an insulin resistant chicken, might be best to stay away from it
