Algae in water supply

I have a chicken watering system as shown in this thread:
https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/937220/share-your-inovative-ideas-here#post_14350776

The water supply in the outside container is always clear (filtered 24/7)
The water supply in the inside container is also clear,
but the bucket is covered with a light layer of greenish algae on the inside.

Is there some magic to clean it (not possible to remove since hard mounted in coop)
The only way for me to clean it, would be to empty all the water, then scrub the tub, and refill.

How does one keep algae from coming back.??

TIA

A little apple cider vinegar in the water will help. It doesn't take much a couple of tbsp per gallon will help a lot

Thank you, will do that and report back.

Since I know that the hens will drink from *anywhere* ...
I figure that that algae stuff is not *bad* for them ???

OK !!!

Since I have no idea what kind of algae is growing in that tub, I will now make sure that,
after I scrub the container clean and rinse well,
no more algae may grow back.

Thanks for all the help !!
