I have a bantam egger who is perching and sleeping on a small perching area outside of the coop. She is still inside the run and locked up safe at night, but I'm wondering if I should be moving her in the coop to sleep with my other 5 girls. She is a very odd, skittish chicken, definitely bottom of the pecking order. Will her perching outside alienate her more from the flock or should I just leave it alone. I've moved her into the coop a couple times and she goes straight to the perch, but every night at sundown she perches in the corner of the run by herself. These are my first chickens and I've had them less than a year so I'm still learning the subtle flock family things. Any advice?

As long as she’s safe I wouldn’t bother her. If the weather gets nasty you could bring her in, but I would just let her do her thing. Are your other chickens full sized? If they are maybe you could get her a bantam buddy.

I have 2 other bantams that do great with my 3 barred rocks. In fact, I think one of them is the boss lady. They're all the same age also and have always been together. Maybe she just likes the breeze. Thanks for the input!
