Aligning the incubator lid with the base

Does it matter how the incubator's lid is aligned with the base? I have a Little Giant 9200 and I've had it for a long time. When I got it out to use, it wasn't stored put together and I'm not sure how the intended way to be put together is. My main concerns is how misalignment may have the water chamber positioned in a way that isn't as effective.

I would say (guess) as long as the lid fits tight. As far as h2o I quit using the water holding area and had better luck with moist wash cloths. You can use a spounge also. Don't forget to sterilize what ever you use. Then rinse well. If it gets a muskie smell take out and re sterilize. I am new at this but from what I can read cleanliness / sanitation is important.
