We are SO excited. We had 6 eggs under a cochin hen (bantie) and today all 6 hatched (day 20)!!! So exciting and precious to see those tiny little bodies all popping in and out of her feathers. She is too adorable the way she croons and clucks and trills to the chicks. What an awesome momma she is! She is so gentle to all of us and it is so sweet to watch the chicks learning from her already. She had one of the chicks trying out some egg yolk that I put there for her. Amazing how they communicate with each other. So we have two orpington (buff) two speckled sussex cross buff orpington (we call them sussingtons!
) and two silkies (white) Now its the wait to see if we have hopefully a bunch of hens and very few roosters.
