All about Buff Orpington's AND Rhode-Island Red's !! CHECK THIS OUT!

Well if the medicate food is specifcally only for the chicks, they should be eating it, not the hens; because hens need other nutrients than chick starter. Goood question!

Yea, I ask on another thread and finally got all that figured out---wow-who would have thought there were so many feeds-I have them all on flockraiser now. The chicks don't need the extra calcium in the layer crumbles right now and the hens can't eat the medicated stuff.Trying to explain it all to my husband was another thing:lol:
Just watched a show the other night showing how they sex them--they pulled there little wing out and if the little pin feathers were all the same length it was a boy and if every other one was shorter they were girls--I think that is how it was----if I had known that when i got my BO babies i could have checked them and figured out whcih one is my rooster and marked him:D now I am waiting till he developes his nasty little spurs...but they have grown like weeds and have all their feathers now and getting along with the two older hens.

I can't wait for my BO's to start laying--when my neighbors RIR started laying she gave one of the eggs that wasn't much bigger than a robin egg-I keep it in a birdnest on my windowsill.....
