What is wrong with my BO!? She's a year and a half old and I swear she doesn't lay more than 1 egg/week. Oh, she'll sit on the nest several times a week and get up singing the egg song, but there are no more eggs there when she gets up then when she sat down.

And how in the world does one rehome a hen who doesn't lay?

Nope, not broody. Maybe she just wants to be a rooster. She likes nothing better than to hang out with Roosty.

I almost wish she'd go broody (not that I really need a third broody this summer), at least then she'd be earning her keep around here. I just don't get it. I read so much about what great layers they are.

If she's not getting the nutrition, that's her own fault. All my other birds lay great! There's a constant supply of layer pellets, starter/grower and oyster shell available. In addition, they free range!​

So does she ever stay in the hen house for long?

Not too much. The strangest thing though is that she'll act like she is laying or has laid, but it's rare that she actually lays anything. She's been this way since she (sorta) started laying. I guess she's just nuts.
