Oh, and they are great breeds to keep you company when you lock yourself in the coop.

People are always telling me my BO's are too plump - looks to me like they are just about perfect as compared to others. And now I am curious as to how much they weigh. Poor hens will have to have a trip to the scale!!!

Hey!! Great thread! I have a few nice pics to post! I keep Golden Comets (sexlinks) and Buff Orpingtons!

So here are a few pics of my Orps or Orps that I have owned and now sold...
This is Remi (Remington), The BO who got me hooked on BO's

This is Rowdy, Rawley, and Rome. Rome has gone to a new home, but Rowdy and Rawley are still here. Hopefully Rawley will find a forever home too.

I have another BO roo, Tootsie, but I don't really have too many pics of him yet... (don't ask about the name!

)

Here are a few BO Hens that I got at the same time as the three roos listed above... (sorry for all the face shots of these ones, it is all I have for the moment)

Are BO mixes allowed? If so, here is a few more of a mix I created the I like to call an Orpet (Orp X Comet). Her name is Winnie.

Excuse the bald-ness in the next one... Mommy had a "go-round" with another chicken over the baby. (Hence, why they are in a cage)

This is her all grown up, right after she laid her first egg.

We have RIR's, five hens to be specific, and we love them. I will always have RIR's. They are exceptional layers, and are quite hearty when it comes time for the crock pot. But what I love most is their personality. They eat scratch right from my daughters hands. They are quite friendly and make wonderful pets. I love how when they see me they come running up to me looking for a treat. On top of that they are gorgeous birds. I love the RIR!!!

Right before Easter, I'm getting a Buff Oprington!
