So, as some of you know, I've had quite a bit of trouble with this whole "duck" thing, and I finally found success in my baby, Motley. I got him at a week old from Reber Ranch, he's about... 4 weeks now? He's a cayuga duck. Anyways, he has some really strange poops. He almost never has normal, solid poop. All I feed him is unmedicated Purina "Flock Raiser"(For ducks) and the occasional guppies for extra protein. Almost all of his poops are projectile/extremely runny. They vary in color too, sometimes they'll be white and mucusy, other times they'll be flaky and dark brown, and other times it will be a clear liquid with green poop in it... I don't understand why there's so much variation in colors/consistencies when he is an indoor duck who pretty much only eats duck feed. He's perfectly healthy other than this!

I should add, he absolutely LOVES water, he drinks it just for fun and plays in it all day. Could this be why? Is he drinking so much that it's just passing through? Because, I believe that duck "urine" is suppose to come out as solid urates when processed, so maybe he's drinking so much it's not processing and is just coming out as water. My hope is to get some sort of poop guide; what is normal, and what would be something to worry about. Thanks!:)

Duck poops are usually almost always watery unless they don't have water. The water makes them look runny AND WEIRD. My DUCKS DO THIS. If THEY DON'T HAVE MUCH water the poop will look brown and flaky. If they go outside, the grass and weeds will turn it watery green.

That's such a relief, thanks! Does it ever come out projectile? I kid you not, my duck could spray a good foot across the room, and it makes a squirt sound!

LOL! That's kind of hilarious! I'm so glad though, I was getting worried. Geez, everyone wasn't kidding when they said they were messy! I wasn't expecting this though!

Thanks so much for the help:) (Here's a picture of my little mess-maker, right after I got him at 1 week)
