Hey everyone,

I have a ton of chicks around here, and trying to get some of their genders figured out so I can take roos to a swap on Saturday. I have some sexlinks that I know are either hens or roos, but I am including them as a reference. I am hoping that I don't have a mess of roosters! I am going to number them for easier responding. If you aren't sure, you can just skip that number. So here they are...

1. This is a EE mixed something, from somebody local. It is about 3 months old. I know the last pic is blurry, but it shows it's tail.

2.Another chick from the local lady, no idea on breed, same age.

3. Another one... Again, no idea on breed, but same age as above. Pretty sure this one is a roo, but you never know on these things...

Third pic is of hackle feathers.

4. And one more from that brood, was told that it was a silkie cross (never owned a silkie or a silkie cross, so you tell me) same age.

5.This is a GLW x BO. About 8-9 weeks old (as are all the chicks from her on out). Broody raised (all the chicks hereafter were broody raised.)

6. BR hen x BO roo (sexlink). Pullet chick. Added for reference.

7. Pure BO chick.

8. Another BR x BO added for reference. Pullet chick

9.GLW x BO

10. Pure BO

11.Pure BO

12. GLW x BO.. The ONLY chick that inherited to rose comb.

13. BR x BO pullet chick. Added for reference.

14. BR x BO cockeral chick. Added for reference.

15. Mystery chick that was given to me as a single hatch chick. Either BR or Dominique mixed with something. I am half thinking dominique because of the comb. Rooster chick (sexlink).

16. Pure BO

17. This is a rooster chick. It is either a BO x Leghorn or a BO x SLW. Not sure which, opinions? I was originally thinking Leggy hen, but then it developed the black, and IDK where it would have gotten that if it wasn't a SLW x BO.

Thanks for all your help!

So, next question: Does anybody want one? LOL... JKJK

I am going to try to get rid of them on Saturday at the swap, but if they don't sell, they may have to be in freezer camp. I CANNOT have that many roosters! Besides, I like having one breed of rooster (BO) and being able to tell ALL of the possible combinations...

All my chickens, are you POSITIVE that white silkie/EE one is a pullet? I really love it, but I can't keep it unless it is a hen. I do NOT want to get attached to it, and name it... My dad already want my beloved, half blind roo to go, because he is getting old.

If you have doubts - sell it. I don't take chances with the large breed chickens, I can only get away with bantam roos.

Well, I was thinking that I would keep the ones that I had doubts on, and that way, I would have not chance of getting rid of pullets (which I REALLY need right now) and I can always sell the roos that appear later on.

If you need pullets, just wait until point-of-lay and sell the roos for $5-$6 each and they should go quick.

:)
