I don't have sources at hand, but I recall reading a little about this. If I recall correctly, hens determine gender via chromosomes they give the embryo, not roosters, and incubating at colder temperatures -might- kill off Male embryos. I don't think anyone has it down to a science yet, or if they do, it's a big hatchery keeping the lid on the practice. Lot of money to be made in hatching out only females, I imagine...It's been a long time ago but maybe on BYC or some agricultural article said that an incubator set temp -- cooler or slightly warmer temp produces more of one sex than another. Anyone know about that?
