All duck eggs pipped on day 25?!

Hi all my Aylesbury duck eggs have pipped that are sat under a hen and it’s not even day 26 yet does anyone know why they would start so early? And can I expect them to be fully hatched by tomorrow?. Thanks

Tomorrow or the next day, yes. Earliest I’ve had from pip to hatch was 26 hours, latest 55 hours, and with an average of ~42 hours.

The 28 Day guide is just that - a guide. 1 - 2 days early / late isn’t unheard of.

Ducklings take much longer than chicks to hatch and can pip several days before.

I had a duckling hatch on day 26 yesterday.
I have had incubator batches pip on day 24, but not hatch until day 27.

I see. The ducks still haven't pipped yet and I was just surprised when they were trying to pip yesterday.

They weren’t trying to pip, they were shadowing. Shadowing happens before an internal pip and is not them attempting to pip.

You will likely never see them ‘trying’ to internally pip, as it is very easy for the duckling to do, and happens very quick.

Ohh I see alright but should I try to open the other? It hasn’t moved at all and the veins are definitely gone but the other one still has them.
