All flock feed question

I have always bought purina layen. When I have chicks I use the Start and Grow. My silkie chicks look to be three young roosters. That would bring my chicken total to 5 hens and 4 roosters. I bought Flock raiser this last time to support the boys. My question is does Flock Raiser stink? I picked it up in car and looked under the seat because I thought some groceries had died under seat. Now every time I open trash can I keep it in it stinks.

What is the mill date? Mine does not stink. Doesn't smell as nice as Nutrena either.

I think gamebird, all flock, and meatbird smell like dog food sorta..I do not like the smell of dog food. I think I'm developing an allergy to gamebird..oddly.

It has a higher protein content so it might smell different. If it's rancid, it will smell. How old is it? Mine smells sweet and cerealy.

Ditto check the mill date. My Purina Flock Raiser also has a sweet, corn, cereal smell (guess that's basically what it is). However, I do have part of a 50# bag of FR that I'm tossing to the deer, since it went "off "during our super summer heat bomb. Couldn't use it up fast enough.

Now I've been buying the small bags of FR, keeping them in the house until ready to be used; I'll do this until our heat bomb dissipates to just 'hot' weather.

The lady at co-op said the Flock Raiser has a different smell. I'm just too sensitive.
