Franks dead right skeeter.. the post office and their handling makes a differance.. I have found if I pay the few dollars more for express my hatch rate doubles.. so what does that tell you!!!

That is the chick starter food from my local feed store. I will go to another on tomorrow and get something else. The food is powdery but also has the cracked corn that shows up in the pics. I have ground it up in the food processor for them. Does the chick starter look different? HELP! RAISING CHICKIES ARE HARDER THAN I THOUGHT!

use a chix start of 20% or higher, most of the time i use a gamebird starter which is around 28% protien. just really fine also medicated starter will work fine for these birds, just watch for pasty butt... if the feed store does not have suitable starter, ask for turkey starter or quail starter, it is fine, and high in protein also..
