I have seen a few posts/threads where chicken keepers use this All in One Powder for coccidiosis, canker, worms, and and respiratory issues. I know that it's application for chickens is technically off label, but this product and every equivalent I can find says not to use on livestock whose meat or eggs are meant for human consumption. Is this product safe to use on laying hens? If so, does anyone know what the withdrawal period would be before eggs are safe for consumption?

The main reason I'm thinking about this product is because my hens suffer from chronic respiratory disease and I cannot access Tylosin or any antibiotic treatment where I live without taking my hen to the emergency vet and paying for a full workup despite often already knowing what the problem is and what I need to treat them. I would appreciate any suggestions about dealing with CRD in Canada, where antibiotics aren't available over the counter.

Can you get Tiamulin in Canada?

On Amazon it's called Tiaguard which is a generic brand. Denagard is the "name brand". Tiamulin is used to treat Mycoplasma in poultry. In the U.S. there is no withdrawal period when using it according to the manufacturer's directions. Most folks that use Tiamulin give it for 3 days each month to help keep symptoms under control. It could be used as needed when you have symptomatic birds as well.

On that website you linked, they do have DoxyTyl or Doxy, these would be a better choice for Mycoplasma than the All In One. For both of these, you would observe a withdrawal period of 14 days after the last dose.

You could also try ordering from a place like Jedds, see if they will ship to you. They have Tylosin.

Unfortunately tiamulin/tiaguard isn’t available in Canada without a vet prescription. Can’t order tylosin through Jedd’s either. I honestly think it’s some kind of legal loophole that allows people to order the 4-in-1 because I can’t order just tylosin despite it being an active ingredient in this combo medicine.

I also think it may be worth treating them for the other uses, even though the respiratory issue is the one I’m seeing most acutely at the moment, but I’m concerned about not having a clear sense of the withdrawal period.
