I have 4 Rhode Island Reds and they were laying in the box just fine. All of a sudden about a week ago I noticed there were no more eggs. I looked at the bottom of the coop floor this morning.. About 25 eggs!!!! LOL Why are they all doing this! No one is broody I don't think. Are the eggs still good? I'm in Massachusetts and it's gotten to freezing but not frigid temps.

Maybe give the boxes a good cleaning and check / treat for mites and then use fresh nest bedding. Putting a couple of eggs in the nest boxes won't hurt. If you are at home when they are laying, you could always put them in the nest boxes and see if they decide to stay there.

Can't help with your other question - sorry.
