I’m so sorry. We were short on the wire when we first made ours so we used netting on top. Lost a gorgeous roo. Mourned him and human proofed our coop lol. Ne’er happened again. Sending hugs from afar!

Thank you guys for all the condolences and advice! Who knew a weasel would get in there? I didn't even think of that!!!! We have 19 baby chicks that we are raising up and will DEFINITELY further improve the coop and run. Thanks so much!

Oh I am so sorry. Please don't be discouraged. I lost 22 birds to a bear once because I didn't latch the garage well enough. It happens. It sucks. Learn and move on.

X2 on the electric fence, which has become the near universal solution to dealing with bears getting into things. Build it right, heat it up and problem solved.

Slowly over the past week, all my hens were murdered! I cannot figure out how anything got in. Their run is netted and chicken wired all the way around, top to bottom!!!! What could still get in there in the night?????

"Netted" will only keep out undetermined small birds. Chicken wire is only good for keeping chickens in.

Something entered through the netting or through the chicken wire. Buy and install a trail-cam and then you will know what 4 or 2 legged predator and how.
