All of the sudden lots of feathers in the duck house?

Yesterday my wife mentioned that there was lots of loose feathers in the ducks house. I didn't really think much of it until I went out today. The whole floor is capetered in feathers! Usually there are no feathers in there. My ducks are 8 and 9 weeks old. Do ducks have a final feather blowout kinda like dogs before the winter? One duck has always been a runt and he is a few weeks behind the other girls. Could this be him blowing out his baby feathers?

They are probably just molting, getting in their adult feathers. All of mine are molting right now (

) so I have enough feathers in the coop and run to make several feather pillows, if I was inclined to.

When I let my teenage ducklings out to play they do a lot of preening. My "lawn" which is usually brown at this time of year is speckled with white.

Hahha my ducks are doing the same thing....i have to sweep it out every day!
